By accessing or using cidrcalculator.net (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and cidrcalculator.net ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (16 in some jurisdictions) and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Description of the Service

cidrcalculator.net provides web-based tools for CIDR calculation, subnet design, IPv4/IPv6 analysis, Infrastructure-as-Code generation, network visualization, and educational content for network engineers and related professionals.

The Service is provided free of charge with optional paid tiers for additional features. The Service is supported by display advertising and optional premium subscriptions.

3. Permitted use

You may use the Service for lawful purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Personal and commercial network planning
  • Educational use and certification preparation
  • Generating Infrastructure-as-Code for legitimate projects
  • Internal corporate use within your organization

4. Prohibited use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, our servers, or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by transmitting viruses, malware, or excessive automated traffic
  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Service without our written permission
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code, except where allowed by law
  • Use the Service to develop a competing product
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its outputs without permission
  • Remove or modify any proprietary notices on outputs (e.g., footer attributions on generated PDFs)
  • Use the Service to plan or enable any unlawful network activity, intrusion, or surveillance
  • Bypass advertising or rate-limiting mechanisms

5. Intellectual property

5.1 Our rights

The Service, including all software, design, text, graphics, logos, and content (excluding user-submitted content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 Your rights to generated outputs

You retain all rights to the CIDR designs, configurations, and Infrastructure-as-Code that you generate using the Service. We claim no ownership over outputs you create. You may use, modify, and distribute these outputs without restriction, subject to these Terms.

5.3 Generated PDF and CSV exports

PDF and CSV files generated by the Service may include a footer reference to cidrcalculator.net for attribution and a disclaimer. You agree not to remove the disclaimer text from generated documents.

6. User accounts (when available)

If account features are enabled, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • All activity under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Ensuring your account information is accurate and current

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Advertising and third parties

The Service is supported by display advertising from Google AdSense, Adsterra, and other partners. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the content of any third-party advertisements or websites linked from advertisements. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and them.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of calculations
  • Uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation
  • That defects will be corrected

You acknowledge that network configuration is complex and that errors in subnet design can cause significant operational, security, and financial impact. You are solely responsible for verifying all calculations and outputs before applying them to production systems. See our full Disclaimer.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CIDRCALCULATOR.NET, ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, OR PARTNERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunity, or goodwill
  • Service interruption, network outage, or security incident
  • Damages exceeding the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim (and if you have paid nothing, our maximum liability is USD $50)

This limitation applies whether the claim is based on contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless cidrcalculator.net, its operators, and affiliates from any claim, liability, loss, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third party's rights
  • Any deployment, configuration, or operational decision made based on the Service's outputs

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification) will survive.

12. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service or any part of it at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably possible. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service's operators are domiciled, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
